Please be advised that a shattered swim mask resulted in the closure of the pool on the evening of Wednesday, June 17. Per Wake County regulations, any glass introduced to the water requires the pool to be drained, cleaned, refilled, and chemically treated.
Thanks to the efforts of Matt Lietzke, Tommy Brannan, Jonathan Serxner, Julie Thomas, Eric Slivka, Wake Aquatic Partners, and our guards Benaiah, Calvin, Henry, and Ethan, we were able to complete these requirements with only two days of downtime.
However, the cost and inconvenience of this event were significant. To prevent such an expensive and disruptive occurrence in the future, the Board of Directors has determined that swim masks of any type are no longer allowed on Cary Swim Club property.
